In this article, we'll go through a few different ways to troubleshoot your television, depending on what you're having issue with :
1. Your TV is responsive, and you may use your remote control to view the TV menu. You're still having problems, such as an app crashing or becoming stuck, the TV turning off and on at random, or visual or sound abnormalities.
You might want to try:
- Soft reset (Android TV & Google TV)
- Power Cycle (All TVs)
- Factory reset in the Settings menu (All TVs)
2. Your TV is unresponsive, and you can't use your remote control to access the TV menu: for example, your TV is stuck, won't turn on, won't display a picture, or keeps rebooting. You are unable to use your remote control or access the settings menu.
You might want to try:
- Power Cycle (All TVs)
- Manual Factory Reset with buttons (Android TV & Google TV)
You can't do it without a remote control. If you want to buy the original remote control, go to your device's authorised service centre or authorised dealer. They can either provide you with a legitimate remote control for your gadget or guide you to a store where you can purchase one.
You should know the number of digits in a universal remote control's set-up codes before choosing one. Some brand devices have 3 digit, 4 digit, 5 digit, 2 digit, and even single digit codes. Check the sites listed here after you've confirmed this. Both sites include a list of setup codes and instructions for a variety of popular brand remote controls. Check which brand of remote control has the appropriate set-up code/s for your device, then buy that one if it is available. The remote control's brand doesn't matter, but it should include set-up codes for the item you have in its code list.
Please note : that each new universal remote control will come with a set-up code list and setup instruction. Never accept a remote control that does not have both of these features.
