The launch date for the Vivo X80 series in India has been set for May 18, according to the Chinese business. The Vivo X80 and Vivo X80 Pro smartphones were first released in China last month. The Vivo X80 Pro was available in two models, one with a MediaTek Dimensity 9000 SoC and the other with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC, and the company has announced that the latter will be available in India. The MediaTek Dimensity 9000 SoC was used in the Vivo X80, on the other hand.

Details on the Vivo X80 series' introduction in India

The Vivo X80 series will be launched in India on May 18 at 12 p.m. (noon), according to a press invite. Flipkart has also set up a special page on its website to promote the launch. Until recently, the May 18 release date has only been a rumour.

Price of Vivo X80 and Vivo X80 Pro in India (expected)

The price of the Vivo X80 and Vivo X80 Pro in India has yet to be disclosed, although both phones are expected to be in the premium bracket. The Vivo X80 was released in China with a beginning price of CNY 3,699 (approximately Rs. 42,600) for the base 8GB RAM + 128GB storage configuration, and a starting price of CNY 5,499 (about Rs. 63,300) for the 8GB + 256GB configuration.

On Sunday, the Vivo X80 series was also unveiled in Malaysia. The Vivo X80 is priced at MYR 3,499 (approximately Rs. 61,800) in Malaysia, while the Vivo X80 Pro is priced at MYR 4,999. (roughly Rs. 88,300). Both phones were released with the same combination of 12GB + 256GB. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC was likewise the only choice for the Vivo X80 Pro in Malaysia.

Vivo X80 Specifications

The Vivo X80 runs Android 12 and comes with a 6.78-inch full-HD+ (1,080x2,400 pixels) AMOLED display with a 20:9 aspect ratio and a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. The MediaTek Dimensity 9000 SoC is in charge, with up to 12GB of RAM. The phone has a triple back camera configuration with a 50-megapixel Sony IMX866 RGBW primary sensor, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide sensor, and a 12-megapixel portrait sensor. On the front, there's a 32-megapixel selfie camera sensor.

The Vivo X80 supports UFS 3.1 storage up to 512GB. It has 5G, Wi-Fi 6, an infrared (IR) blaster, NFC, and a USB Type-C connection for communication. The phone also has an in-display fingerprint sensor and a 4,500mAh battery with 80W Flash Charge rapid charging capabilities.

Specifications of the Vivo X80 Pro

The Vivo X80 Pro runs Android 12 as well, but it has a 6.78-inch 2K (1,440x3,200 pixels) AMOLED display with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. In China, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and Dimensity 9000 are available, but the business verified on its microsite that the former will be available in India. The Snapdragon model features 8GB and 12GB LPDDR5 RAM options, while the Dimensity variant comes equipped with 12GB LPDDR5 RAM. A 50-megapixel primary Samsung ISOCELL GNV sensor, a 48-megapixel ultra-wide Sony IMX598 sensor, a 12-megapixel Sony IMX663 sensor with a portrait lens, and an 8-megapixel sensor with a periscope-shaped ultra-telephoto f/3.4 lens are included in the phone's quad back camera arrangement.

The Vivo X80 Pro has a 32-megapixel selfie camera sensor on the front for selfies and video chats.

The Vivo X80 Pro supports UFS 3.1 storage up to 512GB. It has nearly the same connectivity choices as the Vivo X80. The phone also has an in-display fingerprint sensor and a 4,700mAh battery with 80W Flash Charge fast wired charging and 50W wireless charging capabilities.
